Back to work.

I feel good again. I wasn’t able to go further with my research, for 3 weeks. So now I have to catch up all the work, and that gives me a stressy-feeling, I really hope I’ll be able to finish some piece in 3 weeks. Because then they will be judged by some designers. oh God … I hate this feeling, and it always makes me feel sad when I’m stressed. My mom always say that I have to live like a snake, calm, in yourself, … . On this kind of moments I think a lot about that.

Actually I want to tell you a nice story. A few months ago I fell in love with a dress, ofcourse it was way to expensive. But I always went to the shop to have a look at the dress. Well, good news, during the sales I found the dress. And it wasn’t that expensive anymore. I’m a happy girl with a new dress.

Now, back to work.

Words for strangers.

A little while ago I asked who of you wanted to spread my notes in their cities. Well, all my notes are sold out. More then 50, i’m still surprised about that.

So I start preparing it more then a month ago. Together with some friends I wrote the first notes (100 and a bit), and later I wrote +- 250 myself. It was a lot of work, but I enjoyed it. I also searched beautiful pictures for this project, they fit well to the notes. I like them a lot.
In every envelope is a little surprise-package called ‘the museum at your home’, and it’s a collaboration between me and ‘Het huis van Alijn’. It took me a lot of hours of searching, printing and cutting. But I show you all the surprises later, because I want it to be still a surprise for the receivers.

On monday all the letters fly to your homes.
I look forward to see you spreading the notes. Don’t forget to take pictures of them, please.

About my health, I was still sick last week, it didn’t want to go away. But since yesterday I start to feel better and better. So next week I should be healthy again.

Finally.

First of all I want to thank you all for your support and lovely words on my previous post.

The doctor finally found the reason of my illness, some kind of rare bacteria in my stomach. So at the moment I’m taking some medicines, hopefully they make me healthy soon.

The only thing that I could do last week, was step from the couch into my bed, and watch a few movies. I felt so locked up. Yesterday I finally was able to make a little walk, and I even drunk a coffee (that made me feel sick again afterwards …). So hopefully in a few days I will be the good-old-Hermine again, and do some weaving, go to school, ride my bike, finish the word-for-strangers-project, and feel alive again. Yes.

the 5th day that I’m sick. Can’t eat a thing, feeling miserable, just sleep all the time … . I feel like I live next to myself, like a bad dream. Hope it will be over soon.

Doily.

New years evening was great, just like I wanted it to be. Cosy at home, with my family. Watch the firework in the garden, and do some crocheting in front of the fireplace. Perfect. I want to show you the growing proces of this doily, because I love to see how it gets bigger and bigger. I’m half-way, and I’m so curious how it would look like in a few days.

2011.

Little snippets of my last days of 2011. Lovely days with my friends, walking, and drinking coffee’s. Lovely to come home and find some letters in my mailbox, they make me feel so happy. Did some weaving, 3 meters, for a new work (more about it in the new year). oh, and the ‘words-for-strangers’ are almost ready to be send. Hopefully next week they can start their journey to your homes. So sorry for the ones who still want to join, because all my notes already have a new owner.

I hope 2012 will bring you all love, luck, new vibes, and a lot of creativity. Hopefully it will be a year full of letters, blogging, weaving, and new coffee-dates with lovely strangers.

Zwart

Today i met the lovely Mayken for the first time, we went for a coffee in a brand new coffee-bar in Antwerp called “Zwart”. You certainly have to visit that place.
I really love the dreams of Mayken, and I hope that one day we can do something nice together. She gave me a present, wrapped carefully with beautiful paper and birds. There were some beautiful cards inside it, and also a button of a plant. She all made it herself, so happy with it. You should have a look to her blog, it’s a treasure and she’s so talented.

I also visited the Solar shop for the second time today, I love the atmosphere over there. I bought a little package from Otark, called Dukkah, and you can use it for your salade or on bread. Can’t wait to try it out.

Weaving is the best therapy.

Today I had some news that gave me a very sad mood.

Then there are just two things to do, first important thing is a delicious coffee with a lovely friend. That always can cheer me up. And second, a whole day long weaving. Weaving is like a trance, following a pattern, counting, listening to some lovely jazzy music. I always look forward to the moment when I can cut the woven-blanket off the loom, and take pictures of it. It give me such a happy feeling.

(it isn’t a scarf but some pieces for my masterproject, but I think it would look pretty lovely if it was a scarf. So I look forward to summer, because then I will finally have more time to weave a scarf-collection. )

Carry.

‘Sinterklaas’ brought me a lovely gift, this book. (you can see it on the second picture). I’m very much in love with it. Yesterday I also found another book about how to make baskets. The book really fits me well, because I have a basket addiction. Maybe I have to show you my collection soon. Look forward to try to make some myself, a new project is born !

When my cats were little I always carried them in my cardigan, because I think that it reminds them of their mothers womb (like I did here. ). Now my cats are grown up, but I still enjoy to carry them under my cardigan. So warm and cosy. But they don’t like it so much, they always want to jump out of it.
