Pattern love.

17/02/2013

Last days I’m making new work for an exhibition I’ll join at Eddy&Edwina. I’m enjoying it so much to make this drawings.

The expo called ‘Muster’, this word means ‘Pattern’ in german. But it also mean ‘Collecting’ in English. That’s why I decided to make a pattern collection of drawings for this expo. I hope I also find the time to make a textile piece.

You all get a little sneakk-peek, for more images I let you wait until after the exhibition.

These days are very busy. At my internship we are preparing Premiere Vision, a really important textile fair in Paris. It means that we spend a lot of extra hours at the internship making all the fabrics ready for the fair.

Next to that I try to work on my own projects. I’m making a book filled with geometrical drawing. These I will use for my new textile collection. I also want to work with ‘Tulle’, for a long time I’m intrigued by this material. So I’m really happy that I finally am using it in my work.

Have a nice week, and see you soon.

New addresses on my Paris-blog. Wished I lived in a house with view on the sacre coeur.

It’s good to be in Paris again. Can’t believe there is just 1 month left here. 4 months ago, I arrived in Paris, and I was so scared. A new city, a new language, a new internship. But it’s amazing how quickly you can transform a city into your home.

It’s by far the best thing that I ever done !

Next to enjoying Paris, I’m also working on the exhibition. The first weaving sample is became real ! Now it’s time for a second one.

It’s nice to work on my future plans at the moment. It gives me the feeling that there is something that keeps me in Belgium. I’m working on an exposition that I’ll do with 2 lovely friends. We are thinking about a swedish titel for our exposition. That makes me really happy. (By the way this summer I’ll visit scandinavia by train. Look so forward to discover the landscapes and to meet some of you up there !)

I’m busy with making new work for the exposition. Have no idea what it will be like in the end, but I kind of enjoy making my first few things.

Love to work in my little room filled with plants. But I’m searching an atelier to rent in Antwerp from the beginning of March. So if someone knows where to find a free space to transform into my atelier. Please let me know.

Il neige à Paris.

20/01/2013

I can say that on friday evening I was the most happy girl in Paris. It start snowing, and that was the only thing I wished for. I never before saw Paris in the snow, I can say that it’s magical. My first-snow-evening-walk was the best ever, and I enjoyed doing a snow-ball-fight with a friend. Life is good when the city is covered with a layer of white.
(look up here to see people skiing at the sacre coeur !!)

So sad that I had to leave Paris this morning. I’m back in Belgium for a week to weave some new blankets to offer for sale. In March they will be for sale in a shop in Belgium. Saturday I’ll be back in Paris, I wish the snow will stay until then.

Happy creative week to everyone !

Pastel, all kind of light blue and pink, white. That are colors that I love a lot. But I also like it a lot when there is a bright color popping up in between them. It happens all the time in my house, my work and my wardrobe.

Little snippets of brightness and fluo.

My first avocado I grew in Paris. So happy about him.
I love my new yellow map from HAY.
Home made earrings.
Some textile work I made last year.

Back in Paris, enjoying my weaving-job, coffee’s and crochet. I wished I could secretly take a picture of the people who stare at me while I’m crocheting on the metro. They are funny, but I start being good at ignoring them.

I’m happy to be back ‘home’.

I’m trying out one of the handbags I’ve made a little while ago, at the moment they have fabric straps, but I would like to have leather straps, think that would be better.

Until soon !
