2 things I love.

2 things I love to do during my freetime are, first of all, taking care of my plants. Today I want to show you my favourite plants, first of all the pilea. I think he’s everyones favourite, he’s so different, beautiful and easy to take care of. And from the moment he’s big enough, he’s going to give you a lot of baby pilea’s. Can’t wait for that moment to arrive. And my other favourite plant is one I got from my neighbour, don’t know the name of it. But I love him a lot.

Another thing I like to do in my freetime, you never going to believe this, is weaving. I’m just relaxing behind my loom, making gifts for some friends. I love to surprise the people I love with a handwoven present, it’s such a good feeling to weave with them in mind.

House of Kinoo.

Yesterday I visited Lisa, I was looking forward to see her home for the first time. Although she said it was messy, I thought it was a very cosy home. It was filled with plants, and her sweet cats who were jumping around. She helped me with some computer problems, and afterwards we drunk tea in the sun. A great relaxing moment, now back to work.

I’m counting down, just 1 more week. Starting to get really nervous

we ♥ our plants.

This morning I received some sad news about someone I know. Because of that it was difficult to keep my attention to work today. So me and a friend decided to have nice lunchbreak, and to buy a plant. Because that makes us very happy. I bought a plant called Tillandsia Cyanea, and I saw that there is already a little baby-flower. And my friend bought a mikado-plant, which is a very funny one.

Plants always makes me happy.

Blanket.

I’m making a collection of woven blankets. I really love to play with colours and very soft yarns. At the moment I made 5 big pieces, but I still need to do the last finishing touches. So exciting.

On saturday Eefje will take beautiful pictures of my work, at Robbert’s place. I’m a little nervous, but I’m convinced that it will be great. Look forward to saturday. But it also mean that I have a deadline to catch, so this week will be all about early mornings and late-night-atelier-time.

Relax.

The previous two weeks were very busy, working on several projects at the same time and had important deadlines. So I didn’t had the time to take pictures and blogging. But I’m back, still with my mind with my projects, but I’m relaxed.

Today was such a lovely day, first time in more than 2 weeks that I could effort a day off.

° I did a book swap with Ward Zwart. I gave him a book about gardening and a few baby-plants, and he gave me his lovely ‘Mostly Cola’ book. (He’s incredible talented).
° I repotted my avocado’s, and putted 3 of my pits together in a pot. Hope it will transform into a giant tree.
° Went to my 2 favourite coffeebars in Antwerp, Normo and La Chascona, to drink some relax coffee.
° I’m wearing my blue dress. Found it a little while ago for 1 euro.
° Making a crochetwork for someone special.
° All my plants are growing so fast. Like this little baby-plant I’m making, look up here, when he still was a baby. Does someone know how the name of this plant ?

Ice.

- 15 °C , that’s the temperature outside. It’s cold, but I love it so much. It also have snowed on friday, everything is covered under a thick layer of white glitters. I think the light on these sunny cold days, is the most beautiful of the whole year. Don’t you think ?

There are some big dilemma’s in my head. Wether to go on, or to quit. To follow my heart, or to follow my mind. To do what I like, or what others wants me to do. Difficult. So I wish for the new week that I will find the answers.

the 5th day that I’m sick. Can’t eat a thing, feeling miserable, just sleep all the time … . I feel like I live next to myself, like a bad dream. Hope it will be over soon.

2011.

Little snippets of my last days of 2011. Lovely days with my friends, walking, and drinking coffee’s. Lovely to come home and find some letters in my mailbox, they make me feel so happy. Did some weaving, 3 meters, for a new work (more about it in the new year). oh, and the ‘words-for-strangers’ are almost ready to be send. Hopefully next week they can start their journey to your homes. So sorry for the ones who still want to join, because all my notes already have a new owner.

I hope 2012 will bring you all love, luck, new vibes, and a lot of creativity. Hopefully it will be a year full of letters, blogging, weaving, and new coffee-dates with lovely strangers.

Winter mood.

My crochetwork is almost finished. I’m always so excited, because then I can start a new one. The next doily will be a light blue, from the thread I once got as a present from Inge. It’s time to use this beautiful bobbin.

Last weekend I was talking with the lady that lives next to me about my inside garden. She was surprised and showed me her little home which was filled with plants. She gave me a few cuts from her plants, and also the plant which you can see on the picture. I’m so so happy with her gifts. Does someone know what the name of this plant is ? It has silky , round leaves.

Little ones.

My avocado’s are doing so well. I first thought I never would be able to let grow my own avocado-plant. The first 3 months there just didn’t happened a thing. But at the moment all my pits are getting roots. I’m so so so thrilled about that. Soon my room will transform in ‘avocado-paradise’.
