HANDWOVEN TREASURES

Here it is, my own little shop.

I’m dreaming of opening a webshop for almost 3 years. But I never seems to have enough time to finish it all. That is why I opened a temporary-shop, called “Handwoven treasures”. It’s not much, just the pieces that are finished. There are woven pouches and scarfs for sale, some of them are prototypes (that means that they are perfectly ready to be used, but there are little things that are not completely perfect like I wanted them to be. So I sell them with a discount). By the way, I also make products on order, so you can choose your favourite colours, pattern and size. If you are interested you can e-mail me. Just a note, I just will be able to start on the orders in July.

Feel free to take a look, and who knows, maybe one day you’ll be the owner of your own handwoven treasure.

Oh, I finished my first woven handbag. When it’s less busy I’ll make some more for the shop.

These days I did a lot of weaving. I enjoyed being alone at the weavingclass. Looking true the window, playing my favourite music, dreaming, … . So this is the first result. The different pieces will be wallets, I try to sew them this weekend. But it’s vacation, so I won’t rush. I’m also making a handbag out of one of my handwoven fabrics. Hope it will be like it’s in my head.

I’ll fill my vacation with a lot of reading for my thesis. I’ll write about different techniques who change during time, but first I’ve to read a lot about it. I’ll go to Berlin, and Paris. I want to weave a lot, some scarfs, something for Jaime, … . There have to be more research for my final project. I want to do nice things with lovely friends. A new project with a lovely stranger. And so so so much more. Oh god…. my endless ‘to-do’-list. Happily I love to have such a busy periods with a lot of good-inspirational energy.

These days I’m writing a paper about melancholy. It’s a ‘heavy’ subject, and I’ll be happy when I have defent my writing. So fingers crossed on tuesday. After that I can work for my finall project again.

The 23th I start weaving scarfs. Can’t wait to start, because I’ve many ideas. I think this is the right time to make my own collection of scarfs, and I’ll try to sell them soon. Maybe even start a little shop. We’ll see. But still, if you would love to have a handwoven scarf from me, please send me your preferences. Feel free to contact me about the weaving. I would love to make some nice things for lovely persons.

Weaving.

I love love love to weave. When I entered the weavingclass for the first time, 4 years ago, I knew it for sure that it was a piece of my heart. You can’t separate me from the weaving, we are like one package. Do you have some kind of thing that is really like a piece of you ?

This summer I made a few scarfs, one called ‘Cloud’, ‘Untitled’, ‘Untitled 2′ …. . I want to weave scarfs again, and maybe sell them. I started this weekend, and soon I want to make a few scarfs inspired by Frida Kahlo’s wardrobe. I hope that one day, I can weave scarfs on order. For people who would love to have a beautiful handmade piece. I would love to do that.

Some things I still have to tell. First of all, my presentation went well, I was so relieved. Thank you all for your nice comments.
I also want to show you this amazing video, when I look at this I really want to start making carpets. Wouldn’t that be lovely ?

Writing letters to strangers.

Love to write to strangers, send them beautiful pictures, little flowers, little presents, nice words, … . Today I wrote to 3 amazing peoples in Canada, Mexico and Iceland. My heart is jumping just because my big dream of write letters to peoples around the world is comming true. I love the feeling of making little packages, but also love love to find an enveloppe in my mailbox.

At the moment I’m making a writing-diary, I put pictures in it from the letters I’ve sended, and the ones that I received. Maybe one day I will use it as inspiration for my work. You’ll never know… .

I’m always interested to write new lovely people. So if you would like to receive a note, just send me a mail, and I’ll send you something, made with a lot of love and care.

Weaving on order.

I think it will take me still a long time before the shop can open. It just need the time to grow. But I want to do a little project, till the moment the shop can open. What’s the plan ?

I will make wallets on order. So, do you want a special bag for yourself ? Or have a friend who you want to surprise with a special personal present ? Then I can help you.
I can make “wallets”/bags in different sizes. The maximum width is 40 cm (but this can be a little smaller, because handwork is sometimes unpredictable.), and the lenght is variable to your own wishes. You can tell me wich colours you like, and I’ll try to make something beautful of it. You also can choose if you want a “wallet” completely woven in a pattern, or just a band, or a mix of different patterns.
The price depends on the weavinghours, the materials and the size of the little bags. But feel free to ask, there is no price for just asking.

I really hope I can surprise someone with my woven little bags.
