we ♥ our plants.

This morning I received some sad news about someone I know. Because of that it was difficult to keep my attention to work today. So me and a friend decided to have nice lunchbreak, and to buy a plant. Because that makes us very happy. I bought a plant called Tillandsia Cyanea, and I saw that there is already a little baby-flower. And my friend bought a mikado-plant, which is a very funny one.

Plants always makes me happy.

Matching coffee.

On saturday is my weekly day off, then I try not to think about all the deadlines I have to catch. My saturday ritual is making walks, drinking coffee & writing letters. R e l a x. A little while ago the Barista at Café Labath (in Ghent) made a cappuccino that matched my dress. I really like that a lot !

The next 2 month will be so busy for me with finishing all my work. So I think I will not have so much time to blog. But I try my best to post something every week. Hope you don’t mind if it takes me a little longer. Until soon … .

Glimps of spring.

Sunny cold sunday.

It’s like I notice the first glimps of spring. The flower is start to open, it grows in a special glazen pot, and it’s so beautiful to see his roots grow.
I’m preparing a new exhibition about the letters called ‘Boîte aux lettres’, I’m planning to do something with a big worldmap. I’ve been neglecting the letters for a while, because it was so busy. So some of you are waiting already a long time for a letter of me. But soon, your mailboxes will be happy again, because there are some letters on their way.

Winter mood.

My crochetwork is almost finished. I’m always so excited, because then I can start a new one. The next doily will be a light blue, from the thread I once got as a present from Inge. It’s time to use this beautiful bobbin.

Last weekend I was talking with the lady that lives next to me about my inside garden. She was surprised and showed me her little home which was filled with plants. She gave me a few cuts from her plants, and also the plant which you can see on the picture. I’m so so happy with her gifts. Does someone know what the name of this plant is ? It has silky , round leaves.

Forest.

The darkness of the forest can be so beautiful. The trees, the colours, the shapes of the leaves, …. all just perfect. Something to dream of.

Some things that make me smile these days. My 2 avocado’s has grew a lot last week, I think I have to put them into the soil very soon.
And tonight we go to a concert of Cocorosie, I saw them a few months ago and it was the best concert I ever went to. I hope it will be as good as last time.

The garden.

Our garden is so green, full with flowers and plants. Just in a few weeks they changed from little babies into big green plants. That’s really amazing to see. Look at the picture of our greenhouse I took a little while ago, and look at it now ! We even ate our first courgettes, beans, tomatoes and cucumbers.

I want to show you a few flowers that are growing in our garden.

Plants & finds.

I want to share my Berlin-finds with you. First of all I found this amazing bag. Also found 2 birds, and they can make bird-noises and move their wings. Love these little finds.

My plants are doing so well to. The plant I’ve got from Mieke is growing so so fast, and also my avocado’s are showing their first leaves. I waited 4 months for it, and it makes me so happy to see the first little leaves comming out.

Last friday I went to the amazing concert of Angus & Julia Stone. I actually didn’t knew a lot of their songs, but it was so great. The past few days I’m only listening to their cd, just can’t get enough of it. This song is one of my favourites.

Habitat.

Little bits of everything around me. My cats (the baby love to sleep inside my cardigan, I think it reminds her of her mother), new plants, flowers, a new shirt, … .

Oh, I made a large blogpost about the letter’s I’ve send. It’s just a part of all my send letters, because in the beginning I didn’t took pictures of them. And my latest packages still have to be a surprise for their receivers. Feel free to have a look at my letter project, hope you like it.

I follow rivers.

This morning a sweet little kitty cat came to say ‘hello’. He was really sweet (and curious) and came to me for some cuddles. Perfect start of the day.
While riding to the weaving atelier I saw some of these amazing flowers. I had to stop to take a picture of them.
Today I also had a coffee with a lovely friend. While we were talking a man came to us and showed me a picture of his grandmom who was crocheting. He said that the picture was already a few days in his pocket, because he wanted to show it to me. He always saw me crocheting, and that reminded him to that picture. I think that’s really sweet, and it’s heartwarming to see that he carried the picture with him for a few days, just to show me. I love the picture a lot.

I believe that the plant I’ve got from Mieke, already grew a bit. Or is it just in my head… I can’t stop listening to this song. Repeat repeat repeat. Oh, and my exam about melancholy went great.

Plans.

These days I’m writing a paper about melancholy. It’s a ‘heavy’ subject, and I’ll be happy when I have defent my writing. So fingers crossed on tuesday. After that I can work for my finall project again.

The 23th I start weaving scarfs. Can’t wait to start, because I’ve many ideas. I think this is the right time to make my own collection of scarfs, and I’ll try to sell them soon. Maybe even start a little shop. We’ll see. But still, if you would love to have a handwoven scarf from me, please send me your preferences. Feel free to contact me about the weaving. I would love to make some nice things for lovely persons.
