Last week was filled with lovely things.

First of all, I was intrigued by windows. Like in picture 3, it’s a window in the port of Ghent, It felt so surreal to look into a window, and see such a wondeful view.

Next to that I’m working with different textile-companies to make some of my designs. Yesterday I was making yarns, that’s so much fun ! I also did some industrial weaving and lasercutting. The pictures you see are still ‘work in progress’, so they need some finishing touches. But the 27th of June will be the opening of the exhibition, and that will be the first moment that my work will showed to the public. Feel free to come. More information about it later.

Today i’ll be present at ‘TOUR DE NORD’, it’s a streetfestival in Antwerp 2060 neighborhood. I’ll spread my words for strangers up there, and hope I can make someone happy with the words.

18/11/2011

A trip of 2 days, and we have vistited 3 coutries, first Belgium, the next stop was the Netherlands and then Germany. We visited textile companies, trend-bureaus and a museum. There was a lot to see on those two days.

One of the companies that we have visited was Vlisco. They produce african fabrics with batik-techniques and printings. It was amazing to see the production-proces, I’m always amazed by the fact that machines can produce beautiful fabrics. Oh, and they had this grand archive where I could spend hours and hours. It was filled with fabrics, old stamps, colours, … .

I found some little samples on the ground in the factory, and I took them home with me, as a souvernir. Like I found the feather and the Ginkgo-leave on the ground in Cologne yesterday. I also have a new collection of postcards, I bought them at “Ludwig museum” in Cologne.

It was a lovely little trip. Soon more pictures.
Happy weekend !
