The weekend.
14/10/2012
I’m always looking forward to the weekend. Because then I’ve time to discover my new city, Paris. This weekend was rainy, but I enjoyed it though.
For 2 weeks long I was searching for a nice coffeebar, because here in Paris the coffees are mostly very expensive and not delicious. But today it has changed because I found a lovely place to drink good coffees !! I never been so happy as when I sipped my first good coffee here in Paris.
I made a promise to myself to visit an exhibition every weekend. A week ago I went to Centre Pompidou, and today I went to Palais de Tokyo. I’m really impressed by the museum, and most of all by the exhibition of Fabrice Hyber. So if you live / visit / … Paris, then you should go to that museum. (By the way, they have a photomaton in Palais De Tokyo, where you can take 4 pictures for just 2 euros. Fun !)
Other things I saw last weekend: Beautiful birds on the market.
I’m thinking about a way to share my favourite places in Paris with you. But I still haven’t found a good solution. But I’ll let you know if you can find them somewhere online.
Matching coffee.
28/04/2012
On saturday is my weekly day off, then I try not to think about all the deadlines I have to catch. My saturday ritual is making walks, drinking coffee & writing letters. R e l a x. A little while ago the Barista at Café Labath (in Ghent) made a cappuccino that matched my dress. I really like that a lot !
Flowers pop-up everywhere – my working area is growing – be amazed about pigeons
The next 2 month will be so busy for me with finishing all my work. So I think I will not have so much time to blog. But I try my best to post something every week. Hope you don’t mind if it takes me a little longer. Until soon … .
Updates:
- You see my textile project (2010), and the work from other Young textile designers, up here.
- Handwoven treasure shop is temporary unavailable.
Goodbye…

2011.
Little snippets of my last days of 2011. Lovely days with my friends, walking, and drinking coffee’s. Lovely to come home and find some letters in my mailbox, they make me feel so happy. Did some weaving, 3 meters, for a new work (more about it in the new year). oh, and the ‘words-for-strangers’ are almost ready to be send. Hopefully next week they can start their journey to your homes. So sorry for the ones who still want to join, because all my notes already have a new owner.
I hope 2012 will bring you all love, luck, new vibes, and a lot of creativity. Hopefully it will be a year full of letters, blogging, weaving, and new coffee-dates with lovely strangers.
Happy 2012.
Love like birds.
11/10/2011
The birds – it looks like they cross my path all the time. I start to believe that I might have been a bird in my previous life, maybe that’s the reason that I adore these little creatures so much. Sad sad, today I saw a dead pigeon on the street, poor thing. Maurice (that’s the name I gave the pigeon that I found last weekend) is doing well. He’s eating some granes, and some bread. Next weekend I’ll try to let him fly again. (Thanks for all of your pigeon-caring-tips, they are very helpful.)
I also want to show you some new weavings I made last week. They are for new large wallets for the shop (that will open soon.).
These days I feel a bit sick, a cold, caugh, headache, … . Hope it will go away soon, because I want to enjoy this beautiful autumn-weather for 100%. Until soon !
Traan.
08/10/2011
I’m so so happy, because my new camera finally arrived, after 2 months of waiting. But we still need a little while to get to know eachother. I’m so happy about my new one, but at the same time a bit melancholic about my old camera. He isn’t longer travelling with me in my handbag, but lays down at home. Hope he doesn’t mind.
Today I went to ‘Valerie Traan’, it’s a beautiful galery, so if you once are in Antwerp you should visit that place. When I was walking home I found this poor pigeon, he couldn’t fly anymore. So I took him home with me, and will try to make him better. I have to take care that my cats will not take him, because they are real hunters.
Oh, I still have to tell you all that I have a new idea about the shop I’ll start soon. It will be a pop-up-web-store, temporary, one who will exist for a little while. Because I think this kind of shop fits better to my ideas about the future, and my busy year. What do you think ?
Enjoy your weekend.
Beautiful stories.
04/09/2011
Beautiful stories tonight, like I promised you a few days ago.
A few days ago, while I was taking care of the plants at my work, a girl stept by. She was looking at the plants, she walked away but still was looking. She was very beautiful, she smiled, and came back to me. She told me that she was reading my blog, so that was the reason she was looking. What a lovely surprise that she recognized me. I kept on smiling for the rest of the day. After my lunchbreak I went downstairs to go back to work. And there was a surprise waiting for me. A beautiful beautiful surprise. An envelope, with a drawing of me (with the polkadot-shirt and red earrings that I was wearing that day). Thank you so so much, beautiful stranger. I’m still smiling of this amazing thing that is happend to me. Thanks !
Another story, a sad (but beautiful one). While I was working behind my desk a few hours ago, a little bird flew against my window. He couldn’t survive it, poor little thing. So I took some picture of it, to give it a beautiful last day. And then I buried him. Sweet dreams, little bird.
(I love my corner with a few of my bags. I collect them.)
Berlin.
15/07/2011
We had such an amazing time in Berlin. We filled our days with a lot of walking, window looking, coffee-drinking, …. . To be honest we didn’t visited any museum. We just walked, but that was more than perfect.
In Berlin I finally met the most lovely woman, Geneviève. She was the first who I start writing with, so she’s very special to me. Like she said, it’s like the “imaginary friends” become real friends. I never forget the nice day I spend with her (and my 4 friends), and hope I’ll see her back soon.
Soon I show you more pictures of my Berlin finds, and some nice addresses.
Enjoy your weekend.
oh, and I loved the Brezels in Berlin a lot !
Little bird.
18/05/2011
Yesterday I was biking home when I saw a sweet woman with a little bird in her hands. I cycled past them first, but I decided to turn back. She told me that she found him on the ground and that she thought he lost his mom. Then we suddenly heard some ‘tjiep-tjiep’, it came from a tree not far from where we stood. When we came closer we saw that there was a little baby-bird under the tree, sad enough he didn’t lived anymore. We suspect that the mother throws her children out of the nest. Because of that we couldn’t leave the bird behind. The girl decided to take him home with her, and try to keep him alive by herself. Goodluck sweet girl.
All of this reminds me of those two birds I once found. One already passed away, and the other one flew against my window but is now flying in the sky again.
Little.

Sunday, while I was baking cookies, this little bird flew against our window. Poor little thing, he was still breathing, but it took much of his energy. I build a little nest outside, and layed him down. After a little while (when the cookies where in the oven), I went back to look at his nest. And he was away, back to the sky. Well done, little one !
