Housewarming.

yesterday there was a housewarming party of my lovely friend Noémie , she have this amazing apartment in the center of Antwerp, and I’m totally in love with it. To be honest, I always love house-warmings because then we all can have a little look in someone’s home, and I think we all love that.
Yesterday at the party, there where two other beautiful friends of me and they started a baking-company called “Confetti cake”. I was really stunned by there ideas, and am so proud that they are realising their dreams.

Everything you can imagine … is real.

I had such a lovely day. First I met the friendly Silvana, who came all the way from Amsterdam to Antwerp. We drank some coffee together in my favourite coffeebar. That was lovely.

After the coffee our ways separated, and I went for my weekly walk in the city. I enjoyed the beautiful autumn-sun on a little bench, looking at all the different people who were passing by. After that I visited the exhibition of Walter Van Beirendonck in the MOMU. To be honest, I wouldn’t wear his designs. But still, I adore his work. The way he use the textile techniques is unique, and he’s often inspired by beautiful etnic objects. I like that.
After the exhibition I visited a new coffeebar in Antwerp, called Normo . I felt very comfortable over there, enjoyed a coffee while working on a new crochet piece.

The autumn sun makes me feel so happy.

Little.

Sunday, while I was baking cookies, this little bird flew against our window. Poor little thing, he was still breathing, but it took much of his energy. I build a little nest outside, and layed him down. After a little while (when the cookies where in the oven), I went back to look at his nest. And he was away, back to the sky. Well done, little one !

Love.

A little time free, to bake some cookies. Chocolate cookies, and cocosrocks. I think I want to try out every recipe from my new book, I even rate them after I taste the first cooking creation, and I write the scores on a little paper in the book. Strange ? Maybe.
I also love to look at the spring flowers that showing their little heads, love the fresh green in the house. My plants are waking up out of their wintersleep. It makes me so happy to see them grow, and change.

Christmas baking.

Today I made some cheesecake with rasberries, little red berries and “speculaas” (a special kind of cookies). I think it’s perfect for christmas. Happy christmas to you all ! Enjoy this evening and tomorrow. I will fill these days with diners, weaving and some crocheting.
