All my work is ready to make a travel to London. The last days I’ve been working many hours to finish this project, But, I’m happy, it’s ready. Now I can spend the weekend with my friend in Amsterdam.

New work.

15/08/2012

Today, I worked together with Maria, a sweet friend, in her temporary atelier. We both worked on our own projects, with some music, and crazy dances.

I took pictures of the cushions that I’m making for an event that Alessandra is organizing. And made name-tags to attach to my products (the cushions and woven items). They still need some text, like my name, washing instructions, but I still like them. Colorful and happy.

It feels so good to work all day long.

Atelier.

12/08/2012

I want to show you all some pictures of my atelier. Messy, filled with plants and wires. And ofcourse, with my weavingloom. Soon I’ll receive a new one. Almost can’t wait to have it. At the moment I sleep and work in the same room. But when I come back from Paris I want to rent a separate atelier somewhere in the city. So I’ll have some more place to create.

Next week I’m going to work at the temporary atelier of a friend. It’s a place to die for, look at picture 6 and 7.

Have a nice creative week !

Blanket.

22/05/2012

I’m making a collection of woven blankets. I really love to play with colours and very soft yarns. At the moment I made 5 big pieces, but I still need to do the last finishing touches. So exciting.

On saturday Eefje will take beautiful pictures of my work, at Robbert’s place. I’m a little nervous, but I’m convinced that it will be great. Look forward to saturday. But it also mean that I have a deadline to catch, so this week will be all about early mornings and late-night-atelier-time.

Happy week !

Matching coffee.

28/04/2012

On saturday is my weekly day off, then I try not to think about all the deadlines I have to catch. My saturday ritual is making walks, drinking coffee & writing letters. R e l a x. A little while ago the Barista at Café Labath (in Ghent) made a cappuccino that matched my dress. I really like that a lot !

Flowers pop-up everywhere – my working area is growing – be amazed about pigeons

The next 2 month will be so busy for me with finishing all my work. So I think I will not have so much time to blog. But I try my best to post something every week. Hope you don’t mind if it takes me a little longer. Until soon … .

Spring.

20/03/2012

Today is the first day of spring. I’m so happy about that. This morning someone on the radio told about why the spring started today, an not on the 21th. It’s because the sun is at the same place as the equator. That’s something I didn’t knew. It’s a beautiful day, and it will be better the next few days, I think I will be able to wear my new summer shoes during the weekend. Yes !

I made a little workarea at school, and I’m so glad I did that. It’s next to a big window with views on a beautiful garden. The next months I will spend a lot of time over there. But I doesn’t mind. I can leave all my working materials at my desk, and making moodboards on the walls.

Happy start of the spring !!

I’m making a work with my kaleidoscoop, and it works !

Today I went to a carpet-atelier from Vera Vermeersch. Already for 4 years long I was hoping that I could have a look inside Veras atelier. Today I finally went for a visit.

Vera showed me how she work, and it’s like magic. First she make a drawing on a strong piece of fabric, then she mix yarns to find the right colours, … . Mostly she makes little samples first, to make sure that the colours are good, and the pile is high enough. And after all these preparations, she can start tufting. It’s a big ‘pistol’, with high presure air, and it’s like she make a drawing with yarns. I love the play between the front and the back of the carpet, the pile, the way of working.

I was so totally happy when I came inside the work-room, and it made me think “oh, this is what I want to do !”. I had the same kind of feeling when, 6 years ago, I came into the weaving atelier for the first time. So I hope that I have the chance to learn how to tuft, and maybe it will be a part of my future. I hope so.

This make me so happy. Can’t stop smiling.
